Short Story.
Characters: Chelsea, Jake, Jake's mom, Lillian.
Place: Jake's house.
Point Of View: 3rd person.
It was Saturday afternoon, and Chelsea was going over to Jake's house to study for a big test come Monday. It was fairly warm out, being the middle of June, and Chelsea was really enjoying the walk. She arrived shortly, and was greeted by Jake's mother, who welcomed her in with cookies and milk. Jake came down promptly after hearing another female voice, and sat down at the table with the other two ladies.
"Mmm, these cookies are so good, Lillian! Thanks for letting me have some!" Said Chelsea in her cute, upbeat way.
"Aww, why thank you! It's my grandmother's recipe, glad you like them," replied Lillian.
"Hey, we should probably be going upstairs, we only have a few hours to study, and we'll need every minute of it," said Jake, sheepishly.
"Yeah, you're right...thanks again for the cookies Miss Lillian! And for letting me come over," said Chelsea politely.
"Anytime, just let me know if ya need anything"
"Ok, will do!" said both teens together, and with that, they went up to Jake's not so clean room.
"I think we need a break.." said Jake with a sigh.
"You just had one! We've been up here for two hours already, and you have only actually studied for maybe 40 minutes! Come on Jake, seriously, you need to actually
try to work on this, or you'll fail the test! And you don't want to disappoint your parents, do you?" said Chelsea, slightly annoyed.
"I just can't concentrate, and I don't know why," said Jake.
At this, Chelsea just sighed.
"Do whatever you want, I don't care, but if you're going to keep being a pain, then leave me alone so I can actually work on this," said Chelsea, turning back to her work.
Jake turned and went to a beanbag on his floor, and began flipping through "
PC Gamer", while occasionally stealing glances at the beautiful brunette on his bed. He couldn't even read his magazine with her in the same room. He tried, but just failed. After about 15 minutes of this, he gave up.
"I can't take it anymore!" Shouted Jake. At this, he got up, went over to the girl, who I might add, had a a very confused look on her face, sat down beside her, leaning very close to her with his hands beside her on the bed.
"Whenever you are nearby, I can't concentrate on anything, all I do is think about you, and look at you, and trying to think of ways to tell you. It's been driving me
mad. I can't live without you. You are the most stunningly beautiful, smart, funny, kind, caring, sweet, gorgeous girl I have ever met, and I love you," Jake finished with a sigh, like a load had been lifted from his shoulders.
"I have a confession to make, too. I love you too, and have ever since I met you in 5th grade," said Chelsea, grinning.
Suddenly, Jake pulled her close, and softly pressed his lips to hers. The kiss lasted for several minutes, and when they were finally done, Jake looked into Chelsea's deep green eyes and said "Now, maybe we can actually get some studying done." Knowing full well, that was the last thing that would happen that day...
